2024-25 Colleges Reorganization

  • In 2021 Cal State East Bay launched an extensive study to study the feasibility of creating a College of Health through a reorganization of existing departments. 
  • In fall 2023, President Sandeen issued the final decision to create a College of Health in fall 2025 by combining five existing departments that emphasize health and related disciplines: Kinesiology, Nursing, Public Health, Social Work and Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences. 
  • In 2024-25 the President and Provost asked the campus to explore a broader reorganization to retain our four college structure with one of the colleges being the College of Health.

College of Health Implementation Taskforce

In follow-up to the findings of the Feasibility Task Force in Spring 2022, this Implementation Taskforce has been established to consider reconfiguring existing select departments into a new College of Health.

College of Health Feasibility Taskforce

During her Convocation address for the 2021-2022 Academic Year, President Sandeen announced exploration of the creation of a fifth college with an emphasis on health and related disciplines. Soon thereafter, she convened a Taskforce whose charge was broadly to assess the feasibility of such an endeavor and to characterize important considerations for potential implementation.
