Include When Publishing
Why won't my page Publish?
This is a question often asked by Content Editors when wanting a page to "go-live".
When you Edit your page, there is an option in the Configure tab of every page that allows you to "Include when publishing":
Why is this here? It allows your content edits to be delayed from "going live" if your in-progress updates will take longer to complete.
Each weekend, Cascade re-publishes every page on the site just to keep things up-to-date and fresh. This includes any changes you've saved using the Submit button. (Previewed Drafts are not published).
What if I don't want my page(s) to publish?
If you're in the middle of some big updates that you know will take longer than this week, be sure to un-select the "Include when publishing" option in the Configure tab and then Submit this change.
You'll need to remember to re-select it when you're ready to Go Live with your updates by Publishing. This is often forgotten, and a big reason Content Editors ask "Why aren't my changes being published?"
Now that you're aware, enjoy the feature of being able to delay your in-progress edits that will take longer than your work week to complete. This will keep them from being auto-published during the scheduled weekly publish.
