For time-sensitive questions, call (510)885-3207 or write to history@csueastbay.edu.
Connect with our Outreach Counselors for application and admissions questions
Cal State East Bay's Student Outreach counselors assist interested high school and community college students with admission information, the application process, financial aid options, and more. The Department of History accepts Associates Degrees for Transfer.
We also work with applicants and prospective transfers to determine course credit for classes taken at other universities; generally speaking, any history courses taken at another accredited university will be counted towards your BA degree at CSUEB.
Connect with Cal State Apply
Go to Cal State Apply to apply to our History programs. For the History BA degree, you can choose to apply to one of our three concentrations, in any modality. Here are answers to frequently asked questions for our History programs to know as you apply:
What program modality or delivery format should I choose?
- “Fully online” means that your classes are delivered in a 100% online asynchronous format. No synchronous meetings are required.
- “Hybrid” means you can choose a mix of 100% online asynchronous classes and in-person classes on the Hayward campus.
- If you select our regular degree, you can take all of your courses on our beautiful Hayward hilltop campus!
How do I choose a History major concentration?
There are three History major concentrations. Choose one when you apply, and you can easily change it later, depending on the mix of classes you choose to take. You can learn more about our concentrations here.
What is the deadline to apply for Cal State East Bay?
Deadlines to apply to CSUEB can often be slightly later than other CSU campuses, and can vary between BA and MA degree programs. Please check this page for deadlines. If you are worried about meeting a deadline, please contact our Student Outreach Counselors for support.
