Online Resources

The Cal State East Bay Center for Economic Education is committed to helping teachers provide quality economics lessons and programs for their students. These programs include our Stock Market Simulation and the Economics Challenge sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. Following are online economic education resources useful in lesson and curriculum planning. 

  • Amos WEB
    Among other things, this site contains a glossary of over 1,100 economics terms and concepts. 
  • Econ Ed Link
    Econ Ed Link, a project of the National Council on Economic Education's Economics America program, provides online lessons and connections to economics data sources, websites, news sources, and more. 
  • Federal Reserve Bank SF
    The website of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco provides an excellent list of online resources for teachers. It also provides curriculum materials and a virtual tour of the American Currency Exhibit. For links to all other Federal Reserve Banks.
  • Financial Literacy Challenge
    An interactive game that teaches participants how to build an emergency savings fund, set and keep a savings goal, and build a credit score while maintaining a healthy quality of life.
  • National Economics Challenge
    Provides a platform for economics students to compete with their peers on a national scale and make themselves and their schools proud.
  • Next Gen Personal FinanceThrough curriculum, professional development, and advocacy, Next Gen strives for all high school students to graduate having taken a personal finance course.
  • OECD
    The website of the Organization of Economic Co-operation and Development contains a wealth of information on its organization. Try "Statistics." 
  • White House
    From the homepage of the White House website, go to the Briefing Room, then the Economic Statistics Briefing Room (ESBR) for up-to-date figures on major statistics such as GDP, inflation, and unemployment. 
  • The World Bank
    This is the website of the World Bank. Go to "Resources" and try "Data and Maps" for a start.
