The current Cal State East Bay production of "Follow Me to Nellie’s" has been getting the attention of theater lovers in the East Bay.
It’s a lively production written by writer/actress Dominique Morisseau. The play is about a sultry blues singer, Nellie Jackson, trying to find her way through love, music, and the civil rights issues of the 1950s. Based on the real life events of Morisseau’s family members, this play is a must see for the campus community.
The show, which opened on Nov. 15, has three performances remaining in the University Theatre on CSUEB's Hayward Campus. They are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22, and 23, and a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, Nov. 24. Admission is $15 for general admission, $5 for CSUEB students, and $10 for faculty and staff.
