Aline Soules (By: Lois Tema)
Aline Soules, Cal State East Bay librarian, contributed a chapter to a recently published textbook on information literacy. Library Reference Services and Information Literacy: Models for Academic Institutions (IGI Global 2013) is an important reference source for librarians, practitioners, and university leaders who wish to maximize the current utilization of their resources. Soules’ chapter, “California State University, East Bay,” describes reference and information literacy philosophies and practices at CSUEB.
According to the publisher’s Web site, “as classrooms and universities strive to adapt their instructional methods to an ever progressing technological age, it is imperative that academic libraries also revisit the ways in which reference and instruction services are organized and implemented.”
Soules’ research explores the shift of information to electronic format, and the implications for users in areas from information literacy to copyright. View her other research and publications at AlineSoules.
