AAFSA is an organization of committed CSUEB faculty and staff with ties to the African American community. In addition to taking part in campus activities, such as the Education Summit, its primary function is to raise scholarship money, and to honor recipients. Cal State East Bay men's basketball player Kenneth Farr was named as one of 10 recipients of AAFSA scholarship in 2011. Read Farr's interview on how he balances being both a scholar and student-athlete.
