As the U.S. population continues to grow more diverse, the demand for educators who can teach English as a second language increases. The California State University, East Bay certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) meets the needs of those who plant to serve as English-language teachers in the United States or overseas.

Students who enter the program will learn and apply the most effective and up-to-date teaching techniques for second-language instructors. Interested students can obtain a master’s degree in English, with a focus on TESOL.
