The Pioneer baseball team overcame a 4-0 deficit to defeat Cal State Dominguez, 12-6, on April 7. The victory gives the Pioneers their first CCAA series win of the season.

“Our team was due for a series victory,” Pioneer coach Bob Ralston said. “We hit the ball well and came up with a lot of two-out hits in the series.”  I was proud of the way we battled and came from behind to win three games over a tough Cal State Dominguez Hills team.”

Jordan Wilder had a big day at the plate for the Pioneers going 4-for-6 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Wilder was 6-for-12 in the series with four runs scored and six runs driven in. David Castillo contributed to the Pioneer victory with two hits and four RBIs. Castillo hit .500, drove in five runs and scored three times in the four-game series. Brett Hall and Kyle Zozaya each had two hits. Andrew Woolfe drove in a pair of runs.

The Pioneers will be back in Southern California on April 13-15 to take on Cal State San Bernardino in a four-game series. East Bay will play at Cal State Los Angeles in a makeup doubleheader on April 16.

Go Pioneers!
