Christopher Buckley
Come hear poet Christopher Buckley read from his new collection, Rolling the Bones at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 25 in the Biella Room of the University Library, 25800 Carlos Bee Blvd., on the west side of the Hayward campus. A book signing will follow.
This will be the final presentation of the year in the Department of English Distinguished Writers Series.
Buckley’s numerous books of poetry include Star Apocrypha, Modern History, Flying Backbone, And the Sea, and Sky. His poetry has appeared in The New Yorker, Antaeus, American Poetry Review, The Hudson Review, The Nation, and many other publications.
He’s the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship (2007-08), two NEA grants, a Fulbright award, and four Pushcart Prizes, among others. Most recently, he was awarded the 2009 Tampa Review Prize for Poetry for his manuscript, “Rolling the Bones,” due out this month.
The reading is co-sponsored by the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences.

Parking in lots F, G, H, and K, on the east side of the Cal State East Bay campus in Hayward, is available for $7 per vehicle. Permits can be purchased with quarters or dollar bills at any labeled dispenser in those lots.
