Cal State East Bay has launched a new program to recognize students’ skills, achievement and competency beyond academic requirements.

“Pioneer Merit” is a digital badge acknowledgment program allowing students to earn digital badges that can be shared through various social media outlets such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, BaySync and other networking sites.

Badges earned will illustrate students’ academic achievements to potential employers and advanced degree programs, above and beyond academic major requirements and information on official transcripts. They can be shared through various social media outlets, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, BaySync and other networking sites. The badges will be distributed through a third party called Credly, which will notify students via email that they’re eligible for a new downloadable badge.
