Study in Paris
Stay in Saint Germain des Pres in the Latin Quarter right in the heart of Paris and earn up to eight quarter units of credit in French by attending summer institute courses at all levels of language competency, from beginning to advanced, or two quarter units of credit for a ten-hour course in Survival French. Activities include a two-night stay in Saint Malo on the English Channel with side trips to Mont Saint Michel, the American cemetery, and Bayeux with its tapestry and medieval fair, a day excursion to impressionist artist Claude Monet's house and gardens at Giverny and the city of Rouen, trips to Versailles and Fontainebleau, visits to the Louvre and the nineteenth century Musee d'Orsay, and a choice of evening concerts, ballets, opera and theatre. Lectures and guided walking tours covering French history and culture from the Cro Magnon man to the present day will be given in both French and English. The program runs from July 1 to July 31, 2008.
Program fees:
- Survival French program, including twin dorm room, breakfast, the above excursions, and tuition for two quarter units of credit in French at CSUEB: $2,750.
- Institute Summer program, including twin dorm room, breakfast, the above excursions, and tuition for eight quarter units of credit in French at CSUEB: $3,650.
Fees do not include transportation to and from the program. However, group flight rates are available for departure on July 1, 2008. The group flight returns on July 31, 2008, but arrangements can be made to return at a later or earlier date.
