Alternative Methods Of Assessment
As a department, we have begun to look carefully at the ways in which we assess our students. Our faculty are exploring non-traditional grading structures which can be found below. For each structure we include a contact person who would be happy to elaborate on their plans or report on their experiences with the new structure.

Alternative Grading Structure
Contact: Dr. Andrea Arauza Rivera
The goal of this grading structure is to give students a choice in how they demonstrate their knowledge. Options include take-home exams (allowing for corrections), writing a research paper, planning and delivering an oral presentation, and more. The link below gives sample syllabus language for such a structure.
