Supportive Pathways

About Our Program

A partnership between Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and the Office of Diversity,  CSUEB's Supportive Pathways program builds belonging and community for first-year students via a scaffolded, cohort structured, major and/or social justice focused, academic and co-curricular experience starting in the summer prior to matriculation. The program consists of Freshman Academic Pathways:  early and intensive advising from the Freshman and Sophomore Success Team (FASST); social-justice based General Education classes through INSPIRE; an active pedagogy and support for first-year B4 courses through STEM Lab; and 52Build and Summer Rise, which are programs that support first year freshman and transfer students in their transition to college.

This program provides robust summer training and academic year support for faculty and advisors working with FTF, especially in A2 and B4 courses.  It will also provide embedded peer support across FTF taking A2 and B4 courses.

Supportive Pathways is funded by a grant from the Office of the Chancellor and the Stupski Foundation.
