On Wednesday, October 2nd, social justice and sport activist Dania Cabello visited two “Critical Issues of the Body” Kinesiology classes taught by CSSJ Governing Board member Dr. Rita Liberti.

Cabello is a featured social justice leader in the Futbolistas4Life film, and she was able to share her extensive experiences and knowledge with our students. Cabello’s presentation was called “The Labor of Play and Its Impact on The Body” and was described as follows: “Through a series of questions, we will explore
ways in which play/sports/games mark and define the body -  reinforcing AND reimagining ways of being. Through inquiry and dialogue (and maybe a little play) we will unpack how our bodies hold information and produce new forms of knowledge. Can we play ourselves into freedom?”
